Webcomic Underdogs Spotlight

Posted by / in Blog / 1 comment

This last week we were proud to be spotlit by a great online webcomic creators group, The Webcomic Underdogs. We’ve been a part of their group for nearly a year now, and have benefited a lot from their support and collaboration. Sarah Driffill who wrote the Birkenhain Journal is an Underdog, as are some of the great artists who made us some sweet fan art.

The spotlight entailed a pretty nice promotional post, an interview with the 3 of us, and some more fan art. There’s even a thread on their facebook page about an earlier spotlight they did for us.

We got some pretty good feedback. Mostly of the “Dang, Seba’s art is so sweet!” and “The website is confusing/poorly set up” variety. With regards to the first, Seba is indeed hecka awesome, but I try too! ;) Nah, I kid. I got some compliments on the story too. Nick is working on the website. You’ll have noticed that we have a new website now. It is still a little bare bones in places, but the theme and backend should give us the flexibility we want to make it work. We’ll keep working on it, and always appreciate more critiques and ideas from anyone who has one.

Thanks Underdogs!

WIP World Map

Posted by / in Blog / 1 comment

So this is very much a work in progress, but I wanted to share with you all a map I’ve been working on to keep times and places and events straight. I’d love to hear what you think. Not everything on this map is necessarily canonical yet, but it does have lots of little tidbits of things I’ve been thinking about for the world of The Demon Archives, most of which will probably end up becoming a Lore story/article.

Dan life update: Webcomic groups and Heart of the Swarm

Posted by / in Blog / No comments yet

My wonderful brother Nick got me Starcraft 2 this last Christmas, with an auto-upgrade for Heart of the Swarm, which activated today. I may or may have not have been playing it for the last 2 hours. It’s been pretty fun so far. Pretty standard Starcraft gameplay, but you get to level up the main character, Kerrigan, making it a bit more of an RPG sort of thing.

Your language shapes the way you perceive the world

Heyo readers. A second blog post! I’m going to be trying to post more often, especially because we might have to do one comic update a week here for a bit while life is hectic and uber-busy for our artists down in Argentina. Seba thinks he’ll be able to do two posts a week, but I thought I’d just let you know in advance we might not make the scheduled dates very well for the next couple of weeks.

New gaming console: The OUYA

Posted by / in Blog / No comments yet

So I haven’t just blogged recently. That’s probably because the most exciting thing going on for me is getting over a cold/flu and attending classes. That or seeing all the awesome artwork that our artists are doing. Seba is going forward very well with Chapter 2, and Matias is working on getting ahead in Chapter 4. He already has several awesome pages done, which I wish I could show you, but they wouldn’t make sense yet.

Merry Christmas

Posted by / in Blog / 1 comment

Dear readers,

Thanks for everything that you do to support us. This is a fun project that is just in its infancy and we look forward to growing it with you. Thank you for everything that you do!

There is an awesome huge wallpaper that we had made and you can see it here:

And its up there big in case you want to download it. You can also buy it as a poster or something if you want, we loved the cover prints we got from deviant art.

Enjoy the holidays!

More cool alternative energy ideas: Harnessing the power of play

Posted by / in Blog / No comments yet

In my daily news reading on the internets I always pay special attention to green and alternative energy stories. This is probably partly because of the project we are doing (Minerva likes green energy), but also because my dad has almost always worked in nuclear power, so I’ve been thinking about electricity sources for a long time :) One of my most recent posts was about harnessing a plant-microbe fuel cell. Today, I want to talk about projects that work to harvest the energy potential of play.

Getting electricity from plants? Awesome!

Posted by / in Blog / No comments yet

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a couple of days. Life’s been busy, and I know my blog is not as exciting as the comic pages. There should be one getting posted quite soon today, probably as soon as Nick wakes up. Today, I wanted to tell you about this pearl of a potential alternative energy tech - plant-microbial fuel cells.
